On the beach, amid the sound of the sea and the lightness of summer, a man moves forward, almost disappearing behind an explosion of shapes and colours. He is a street vendor, yet he resembles a fantastic creature: a butterfly born from ingenuity and necessity.
To earn a living, he turns his own body into a travelling display, reinventing his trade each day and carrying with him the small desires of holidaymakers. The inflatables become wings, and the weight of hard work is transformed into colour.
“The Butterfly Man” thus tells the quiet poetry of someone who, faced with need, does not give up his dignity, but finds in creativity a new way to keep flying.
