  • Off Script

The work stems from a reflection on the myth of the puppet, reimagined within the reality of 2026.
On stage, an entire community of marionettes appears docile, controlled from above by a puppeteer who directs their gestures, roles and destiny: a bitter image of power turning a people into a spectacle. In the foreground, however, a rebellious puppet watches without becoming entangled in the strings. Fascinated yet detached, he is driven by a desire for experience, truth and freedom.
The little theatre and the figures on stage are suggested through quick brushstrokes, while the puppet and the puppeteer are rendered with a palette knife and denser layers of oil paint, emerging both physically and symbolically from the scene.
