I am GianPaolo Macario and I am the author of this site.
Between Businesses and Brushes: My Life as an Artist
I was born in Chieri in the province of Turin – Italy – and I live nearby Milan (Arese).
My wife Luisa and I have known each other since we were young and today we have a beautiful son Andrea married to Valentina.
What more could you want from life?
I am kaleidoscopic, a man who has danced between the world of business and the artwork. My story is a mix of passion, commitment and creativity.
My adventure began in the digital world, where I built a communications and CRM services company. This company, now present in four European countries, is masterfully led by my son and two of my granddaughters.
Over the years, I have learned to shape my aptitudes to petty business and technology, but deep in my heart, I have always known that there was something more. Today, I dedicate a precious part of my time to my hobbies and painting. It is there that I find my true essence, my soul that mixes with colors and shapes. I am an artist, and this definition fills me with joy. My works are inspired by the moments captured in the photographs of my travels or of dear friends. Each brush stroke tells a story, each color vibrates with emotions.
Life has taken me on different paths, but my passion for art has remained constant. Perhaps it is precisely this duality, this fusion of worlds, that makes my artistic expression so unique. I am grateful for every brush stroke or spatula on the canvas, for every journey that has shaped my vision.
So, yes, I am a businessman, a technologist, but first and foremost, I am an artist. And perhaps, precisely in this fusion of roles, I have found my true voice.
I have had the opportunity to have many curious experiences: I did my military service in 1989 in the Carabinieri, I graduated in computer science (a degree then titled as “Information Sciences” with Prof. Giovanni Degli Antoni and Prof. Giorgio Valle), I grew professionally in the period of greatest development of computer science and digital networks.
Until, on my 60th birthday, my children gave me a beautiful box of oil colors and in September 2021 I enrolled for the first time in the oil painting course of the master Massimo Fontanini at the Atelier Crespi in Brera.
